Fiction and poetry submissions are temporarily closed and will re-open on June 1st.
TCR accepts electronic submissions of new work all year. We respond within 60 days, usually much sooner. Work submitted will be considered for upcoming print and online issues of TCR.
Send 3-6 poems in a single submission.
Send one story or up to three flash fictions.
Send one essay.
Send 3-6 poems, one story, or one essay; translators are responsible for securing the rights and permissions for their translated work.
Please submit only once in any category before hearing back from us. After you receive a response, feel free to submit again after a month has passed.
Upload your work in a SINGLE submission. Do not send submissions by email. Submissions that do not follow these guidelines will be ignored.
Please do not include your name or a cover letter in your submission document; use the dedicated space on the Submittable form to provide your cover letter.
We welcome simultaneous submissions. If your work is accepted elsewhere, inform us immediately by withdrawing your piece in Submittable. Poets may withdraw a single poem by adding a note to the submission.
Submit previously-unpublished work only. Please note that work found online on personal websites or other pages is considered published work and cannot be considered. Contributors, please wait one year before sending new work.
We acquire first serial rights of accepted work; rights revert to the author upon publication.
